Happy King and Queen Day!

We made crowns from paper plates, read books about Kings and Queens and wrote  stories about what we would do if we were a king or queen.

PATTERN DAY  September 18.

How many patterns can your child wear?

Why are we teaching about patterning?  Why  have pattern day?  It is more then the fact that the students look so cute wearing all their patterns, and had fun!

Researchers say that when children explore and learn about patterns, we help them build important foundations for later number work. Creating, extending, naming, and talking about patterns help build strong mathematicians. Even the most scholarly mathematicians can be challenged with studying patterns.

Patterns are at the heart of math. The ability to recognize and create patterns help us make predictions based on our observations; this is an important skill in math.

Understanding patterns help prepare children for learning complex number concepts and mathematical operations.

Happy Pattern Day!

It is hard to tell in the photos. . . we had one student that wore 15 patterns!  Four students wore nine or more patterns!

RUN FOR EDUCATION!

Thank you to Paulette Caudill, and Nancy Cobb, ESUSD school board members for your support!  We appreciate all they do for our schools and students.

I pushed through.. . and jogged the 5K Sunday morning!  It was hard, but still felt great!
